The Sound of Music Pavilion is a true movie location. As the iconic backdrop for the famous movie, it is a must-see for all fans of the classic.

The white music pavilion in the park of Schloss Hellbrunn is one of the most famous attractions for fans of the world-famous film The Sound of Music. Some of the most romantic and unforgettable scenes of the musical were filmed here, including the popular duet “Sixteen Going on Seventeen.”

His way to Hellbrunn

Originally located on the grounds of Schloss Leopoldskron, the pavilion was moved to Schloss Hellbrunn due to high tourist demand and to protect privacy. Today, it stands as a symbol of Salzburg’s connection to Hollywood. Set in the idyllic surroundings of the palace park, the pavilion attracts numerous visitors from all over the world each year and invites them to take a small time trip into the magic of the film.
